The OGKK DEMONSTRATIONS held on Aug 23rd No1

The OGKK Recital held on Aug 23rd at the National Theater Okinawa in Urasoe city celebrating the 40th anniversary since OGKK’s foundation and in memory of the Grand master Miyazato Eiichi sensei. All the Gojuryu dojos gathered and each dojo demonstrated one of karas. High ranked masters also did a kata. And honorary president Iha Koshin sensei and president Hichiya Yoshio demonstrated showed a kata as well,which is very rare. Iha sensei and Hichiya sensei did sitting tensho and tensho respectively.Both were so splendid and respectful that all practitioners became very quiet and were staring at them.

As for us the Minei dojo students, we adult did Shisochin with some other dojos and boys & girls Gekisaiichi.

The Okinawa Goju-ryu Karate-do Association’s 40th Anniversary Commemoration and 10th Anniversary Memorial Demonstration in Honor of Founding President Eiichi Miyazato was held on August 23 at the National Theater Okinawa in Urasoe City. Although the participants may have been somewhat fatigued following the seminars held on August 21 and 22, trainees from within the prefecture, across Japan, and overseas delivered their demonstrations with great poise. At this event, the Association’s three executive officers also performed their demonstrations. In particular, Honorary President Koshin Iha’s seated Tensho was a rare and valuable sight that is seldom seen.

Now, the students at the Minei Dojo performed Shisochin for the adults and Gekisai Dai Ichi and Gekisai Dai Ni for the children. In addition, Mr. Okuma gave a model demonstration of Shisochin during the second half of the program.
